Shannon Cross

Bio

Shannon Cross is a full time artist specializing in mid to large scale abstract acrylic pieces. She left behind a fulfilling policing career of 10 years, in Edmonton, AB then travelled extensively with her husband’s career. While living in Hamburg, Germany her love of abstract art began to evolve. Shannon began creating large scale pieces for corporate, small business and private collections. She now works from her own studio in the Okanagan, where her paintings initially emerged as rather industrial, contemporary forms that presented well in homes, using bright colors, scratchings, textures and stencilling. Over time her interest grew into seasonal series of abstract florals often being compared to the mid works of Bobbie Burgers amongst others.  Her current series involves a transparent layer upon layer organic expression of nature and the outdoors.
