Jill Charuk Works

Bio

Jill was born and raised in Richmond BC a suburb of Vancouver. It was here that she received a degree in fashion design before opening her own clothing manufacturing business. She later developed careers in the clothing retail industry and in interior decorating where her love of color came to the forefront. After two decades of creative work, Jill gave in to her urge to paint.

Oil paint has proven to be a favorite medium, lending itself to her bold and impressionistic style. Growing up on the coast instilled a need for brilliant and deeply saturated hues in her art. Her use of intense colour caused an immediate and positive reaction from her clients and collectors.

Largely self-taught and highly motivated by her work, Jill has completed numerous workshops in the lower mainland, and California, and color training by Leatrice Eisenman director of the Color Marketing Group. She has traveled to Italy in pursuit of new images for her landscapes.

Jill is a member of the South Delta Artists Guild and of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work has been widely exhibited; is well published, including the cover of Art Avenue magazine and BC VQA wine labels; and is featured in private and corporate collections in North America, Mexico, Europe and China.
