Andrew Kiss Works

Bio

Being named British Columbia Wildlife Federation “Master Artist” not once but twice, are just two in a long list of honors and awards given to Andrew Kiss.

The work of this remarkable painter of sunlight and shadows manages to engage all of our senses.  Can we really hear that gurgling stream, smell the hint of frost in an autumn landscape, taste the tart berries on a branch?    Such is the exquisite detail, that from a distance, Andrew’s paintings could be the work of a master photographer.   Instead, as you get nearer, you see the brushstrokes of a master painter.

In addition to painting landscapes, wildlife, and breathtakingly beautiful florals, Andrew Kiss has illustrated four very popular children’s books, one of which was on the Best Seller List for children’s books in Canada.  In 2018, the book, “Wild Babies” was chosen by the “Dollywood Foundation” for their “Imagination Library Program in the United States”, and in 2019, the same book was chosen for the “Imagination Library Program, Canada.”  To foster a love of reading in children, the program donates millions of books each year, in five countries around the world.

Born in Hungary in 1946, Andrew’s family immigrated to Canada in 1957.  He now lives in Alberta and shows his work in galleries across Canada.  As a widely collected artist, his art is held in private and corporate collections in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

With articles, awards, and a best-selling book to his credit, Andrew says that his biggest reward comes when he is able to really touch people with his art.
